THE 21ST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DEPOSIT INSURERS (IADI) IS TAKING PLACE.

The Deposit Insurance Corporation’s delegation is attending the 21st Annual General Meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI).

Acting CEO of DICOM, Mr Baatarsuren Sukhbaatar is attending the meetings in Argentina, Buenos Aires, held from 24-28th of October. He participated in the meetings as EARC Chair and the CEO of Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia.

Since the election of EARC Chair, Mr Baatarsuren Sukhbaatar chaired the meeting for the first time as well as successfully organized the meeting among its members. During the meeting new regional Vice Chair, the management team of the Deposit Protection Agency of Kyrgyz Republic and newly appointed director of Deposit Insurance Agency of Georgia was introduced by the Chairperson. Brief reports of every single member’s activities were discussed. Important issues such as further partnership & information exchange have also been actively discussed. DICOM’s recent activity was introduced to committee members and regional further development possibilities have also been discussed actively.

DICOM is a member of the Joint Working Group on Strategic Priorities and Action Plans of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC), and during the meeting it was discussed the work plan until 2026 and how it meets the requirement of the IADI’s plan. Also, the members' future issues were discussed and a consensus was reached.

At the meeting of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee, DICOM reported on its main activities, and regional member organization leaders discussed how they are preparing for the digital transformation of the deposit insurance and financial system.

During the meeting, the President of the IADI and the heads of the 8 regional committees met and discussed the possibilities of regional cooperation, the problems faced due to the economic situation, how to align regional activities with the goals of the IADI, the needs of member states, Core Principles and Compliance, and the suggestions made by the members on the reform work.

In addition, they successfully participated in the meetings of Financial Cooperatives Technical Committee, Financial Technology (Fintech) Technical Committee, Reimbursement Technical Committee, Core Principles and Research Council Committee, Audit and Risk Council committee, and Member Relations Council Committee.
