During the 18th regular assembly of the Mongolian Banking Association (MBH) on December 8, the event served as a platform to acknowledge the luminaries who have contributed significantly to the advancement of the banking sector.
This year, Ms. Baasandulam, spearheading the Reimbursement and Resolution Division, was distinguished with her inaugural nomination as "Best Banker-2023" by the Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Her tenure has been instrumental in the conceptualization and evolution of the deposit insurance system, playing a foundational role since its inception. Her efforts are inextricably linked with the genesis, expansion, and the decade-long trajectory of the system.
In her capacity, she efficiently directed the financial mechanisms for the transference of assets and liabilities from the Savings Bank to the State Bank. Furthermore, she was pivotal in facilitating insurance payout for the depositors of Capital Bank.
Aligned with the core principles of the International Association of Deposit Insurers and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, a thorough evaluation of the Deposit Insurance Corporation's operational and legal structure was undertaken in 2017. Subsequent to this appraisal, substantial amendments were introduced to the "Bank Deposit Insurance Law," with Ms. Baasandulam playing a significant role in these legislative enhancements.
The augmented remit of the corporation now includes the ambit of inspection procedures and pertinent regulations, leading to the refinement of both remote and on-site inspections of commercial banks.
Ms. Baasandulam has been appointed as a member of the Reimbursement Technical Committee, under the auspices of the Core Principles & Research Council Committee of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). In October 2023, she co-authored a seminal research paper titled "Obstacles, Strategies for Enhancement, and Prospective Trends in Insured Depositor Reimbursement: Present and Prospective Outlook," underlining her acumen in the domain of deposit insurance.
