World Savings Day was organized successfully

After the first world war, during a period when Europe’s economy was in turmoil, the first International Savings Bank Congress of the World Society of Savings Banks took place in Milan, Italy in 1924.
With the intent of raising the living standards of citizens, and supporting financial education initiatives, especially raising awareness of the benefits of saving for the future, this “Savings Day” has been widely celebrated since 1925. As of today, 140 countries have made it a tradition.
The day is celebrated widely around the world on October 31st.
The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia is celebrating for the fourth year running in collaboration with Bank of Mongolia, Mongolian Banker’s Association, Germany’s Sparkasse Bank’s fund in Mongolia, and other commercial banks.

This year’s campaign motto was “It’s easy to save” and took place over the course of a month. In previous years, the event took place in Darkhan and Erdenet but this year, it took place in Sukhbaatar aimag’s Baruun-Urt city.
The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia conducted a training session on the Deposit Insurance System and the importance of saving for teachers and students of Darkhan city’s “Oyunii Ireedui” school, The University of Humanities, Erdenet’s Mongolian National University, and Sukhbaatar aimag’s 3rd School.
Students from grades 1-12 participated in a drawing contest called “Saving is easy,” as well as a TIK TOK video contest, and the winners were announced. There were about 400 submissions in the contests, and 11 submissions were awarded.

1st place: Darkhan-Uul aimag, Oyunii Ireedui complex, grade 7 student B. Ujin
2nd place: 50th school, grade 12a student M. Bayar-Erdene
3rd place: 79th school, grade 10a student Dolgorsuren
Tik Tok competition award recipients:
1st place: Oyunlag School, grade 6a student A. Munkh-Anar
2nd place: 141st school, grade 3c student U. Ariuntungalag
3rd place: Oyunlag School, grade 5b student B. Enkhrii

The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia gave out “Deposit Certificates” to 400 children who were distinguished for their intelligence, knowledge and initiative, with the purpose of supporting investment in their future.
This year’s program introduced the importance of saving to citizens and children, as well as supported the sharing of financial knowledge and making saving a habit. The program covered a wide scope of activities and was successfully carried out.
